THE IMPLEMENTATION OF READING ALOUD STRATEGY IN TEACHING PRONUNCIATION FOR THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMA AL-FALAH SUMBER GAYAM KADUR

Language is a means of comm uni cation. Human beings use a language to com m unicate with each other in order to express their minds and accompl i sh thei r needs. Reading enables people to fi n d out inform ation from a variety of texts, wri tten or pri nted infom1ation from newspapers, magazines, advertisements, brochures and soon. Pronunciation is fundam ental aspect that im portant in part of learning Engl ish. Because of this aspect is important, so we not only learning a
l anguage but also using that language. Readi ng aloud is an activity to read something loudly. In readi ng aloud, students can test themseives whet her the pron unciation that they are saying i s correct or not. ff the pron u nciation are not correct, i t can be revised directly by the teacher.
While, there are three kinds of focuses in this study. The first, the im pl ementation of reading aloud strategy in teaching pronu nciation for the eleventh grade student at SMA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur. The second is the parts can the motivated the students in teaching pronun ciation for the eleventh grade student at SMA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur. And the last The Advantages and Disadvantages of Reading aloud strategy in Teaching pronunciati on for the eleventh grade student at SMA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur.
This study is qualitative research. While this type of research is Descriptive research. The subject of this study is eleventh class students of SMA Al-Falah Su m ber Gayam Kadur wh i ch consists of 20 students. Research i nstrument which are used are observation, interview and documentation.
Based on the result showed that there are three steps on the teachi ng and learning process where the reading aloud strategy is implemented at SMA Al Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur. The result of this research shows when the teacher impl ements reading aloud strategy in teaching read ing, the students are interested in learning wel l. There were 20 students in the class. The teacher made I O students to read aloud the text one by one while 10 others l istening and note some difficult voabulari es to be discussed together in the end of the class after reading aloud act1v1ty was done, and next week the 10 students who had been read aloud in the first meeti ng. The parts can motivated the students is i n wh ilst teaching because the teacher instructed the students to read the text one by one by using
of the class and the teacher corrects students pronunci ation together. Whi le the advantages by using reading aloud strategy is reading aloud strategy in front of the class and the teacher corrects students pronunciation together. While the advantages by using reading aloud strategy is the students could be improve of pronunciation very well, and disadvantages of reading aloud strategy is the students felt bored because they just reading aloud in order that knowing the mistake vocabulary and needed much time.
Finally,this study is expected to be useful for the reader and future researcher. The researcher believed that this thesis is far from being perfect. So the researcher will accept good suggestions and constructive criticism to make this thesis perfect. The researcher also hopes that the thesis will be useful and contribute some valuable thing to the researcher herself and all readers the general.
