THE IMPLEMENTATION OF QUANTUM LEARNING METHOD ON THE STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF SMP ATTAROQQI TSANI SAMPANG

Reading comprehension is the ability to read text, process it and
understand its meaning. There are many ways to make students
comprehend in reading. One of them is using a method of Quantum
Learning. These methods discuss the relationship between language and
behavior that can be used to create an understanding between students and
teacher in the learning process.
This research focused on two problems which become the main
discussion in this research, those are : How does the implementation of
quantum learning method on the students’ reading comprehension at the
eighth grade of SMP Attaroqqi Tsani Sampang, and What are the students’
response of the implementation of Quantum Learning Method on the
Students’ Reading Comprehension at the eighth grade of SMP Attaroqqi
Tsani Sampang, while the research objectives are To describe how the
teacher implement the quantum learning method on the students’ reading
comprehension at the Eighth Grade of SMP Attaroqqi Tsani Sampang,
and to explain the students’ response of the implementation of quantum
learning method on the students’ reading comprehension at the Eighth
Grade of SMP Attaroqqi Tsani Sampang.
This research uses qualitative research design, and the types of
research is descriptive study that gives the information from the object of
the study that is the implementation of Quantum Learning Method on
students’ reading comprehension at eighth grade of SMP Attaroqqi Tsani
Sampang, and the subject of the study used English teacher and the
students at the eighth grade of SMP Attaroqqi Tsani Sampang. In this
research, the researcher used three instruments to collect the data, there are
interview, documentation and observation.
The result of this research showed that Quantum Learning Method
were use music in teaching reading poetry that able to make the students
especially for junior high school able to make the teaching learning
process more interesting, enjoyable and also motivate to the students to
comprehend the poetry. Music for the students at junior high school it
make the teaching process can prevent bored of the students in learning
process.
Based on the result above, Quantum Learning Method is effective
to be implemented in teaching reading comprehension it is suggested for
the English teacher should choose the Method, and material that are
appropriate to the students need. So that students become comfortable and
interesting in learn reading.
