As we know that when the students would like produce a good speaking, they have to know some important things of it. The things are pronounciation , vocabulary and grammar. Those things are really needed for the students themselves in order to produce a good speaking.
This research uses quantitative research design where the data is analyzed using statistical procedures. This research is correlation research which involves variable X as independent variable (students' vocabulary knowledge) and variable Y as dependent variable (students' speaking skill). The population of this research is the students in speaking class at the second semester at SMPN8 Pamekasan, only one class. The sample of this research is 34 students by using simple perpusive sampling. The research instrwnents are questionnaire used to get students' vocabulary knowledge score (variable X) and documentation used to get students' speaking skill score (variable Y
The result of the researcher analysis that no correlation hetween the. vocabulary knowledge and the speaking skill of second semester students at S:MPN8 Pamekasan It is proven after knowing the result of data analysis and comparing with the table of correlation's coefficient value "rxy" product moment. The result shows that "rxy"value of this research is -0,02 It is lower than the table of correlation's coefficient vaJue"r" product moment whether in level significance 95% with N= 34. The value is
0.339. So, the alternative hypothesis is rejected. And also it is proven after the researcher know the result of the data analysis and comparing it with
