Collaborative strategy is the activities in the class used by the English
teacher in teaching grammar, an organized and structured way to use small
groups to enhance student learning and interdependence. Students are given a
task, better known as an assignment, and they work together to accomplish this
task. Each individual has responsibilities and is held accountable for aiding in the
completion of the assignment; therefore, success is dependent on the work of
everyone in the group.
Based on this phenomenon, the teacher has significant rules, included on
the implementation of collaborative strategy in teaching students grammar that the
teacher used. Whereas, there are two principle issues that analyzed in this
research: the first, how is the implementation of collaborative strategy in teaching
students grammar at eight grade students of MTs. At-Thohiriyah Aeng Panas
Pragaan Sumenep ?.And the second, what are kind of collaborative strategies in
teaching students grammar at eight grade students of MTs. At-Thohiriyah Aeng
Panas Pragaan Sumenep ?.
This research uses Qualitative approach where the method is using content
analysis. This approach will help the researcher to describe the situation into a
paragraph. The used data is taken from the observation, interview and
documentation. The source of the data was the English teacher and the subjects
were the students of eight grade. Checking the data validity is conducted by
member checking, triangulation, and documentation. Analyzing the data is carried
out by data reduction, data display and concussion drawing.
The result of this study showed that the implementation of collaborative
strategy in teaching students grammar at eight grade students of MTs AtThohiriyah Aeng Panas Pragaan Sumenep is: kind of collaborative strategy in
teaching students grammar is use Role play, Active-review session, Work at the
blackboard and Jigsaw group project. And in implementation of collaborative
strategy in teaching students grammar are a) the preparation steps b) the
implementation steps.
Base on the result of this study, it is concluded that the teacher uses several
technique in implementation of collaborative strategy in teaching students
grammar. it is suggestion for whom taken a hand in English learning process in
order to improve and develop more creativity strategy that it can make the
students learning is fun and happy, so, they can enjoy to taking learning process
well.
