Language is a means of communication. Human beings use a language to communicate with each other in order to express their minds an accomplish their needs.
Reading is the process of interpreting information or getting messages (what people write). Comprehension is the process of deriving meaning from connected text. It involves word knowledge (vocabulary) as well as thinking and reasoning. In other word, Reading comprehension is the process of receptive skill the students get the text they read. Based on tge phenomena above, the researcher interest to take the topic “ Student’s Difficulties On English Reading Comprehension at The Seventh Grade of MTs. Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan “
There are two problem statements in this study. The first one is what are the students’ difficulties on English reading comprehension, the second is How does the teacher solve the students’ difficulties on English reading comprehension. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach. While kind of research, the researcher uses descriptive research. This research is done to know the students’ difficulties on English reading comprehension.
The result of this research mention that there are two students’ difficulties on English reading comprehension. The first, based on the characteristic of the reader consist of several factors, they are stress, concentration, vocabularies, educational background. The second, the difficulties based on the text consist of two factor. They are identifying for main ideas, referring to the passages. To solve the difficulties the teacher applied the right solution containing with the reading strategies that consist of several kinds, they are; integrating reading strategies (IRS), general strategy discussion, reading aloud in the classroom and teacher modeling
