The Implementation of “Make a Match Technique” on Students’ Reading Skill at the Eleventh Grade of MA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur, Pamekasan

Reading is one of language skills that should be mastered by students. In teaching learning activities of reading, teacher should prepare a technique to be applied in the class. The technique must interest in order that students more active, enjoy and they do not feel bored during the process of teaching and learning activities. In this research, the researcher wants to describe about the teaching learning process by using “Make a Match Technique”. It is used by the teacher at the eleventh grade of MA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur, Pamekasan. In this study the teacher uses “Make a Match technique” on students’ reading skill.
There are four Research Focuses in this research. The first, how does the teacher implement “Make a Match Technique”. The second, what are the problems faced by the teacher in implementing “Make a Match Technique”. The third, how are the students’ responses about “Make a Match Technique” in reading class at the eleventh grade of MA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur, Pamekasan. And the last, in what steps of “Make a Match technique” can make the students more active, interest, and enjoyed in learning reading skill. So, in this research the researcher wants to describe the situation in reading class based on the research focuses.
In this study, the researcher uses qualitative approach because the researcher presents directly the teaching and learning process through the implementation of “Make a Match Technique” in reading subject that is hold in MA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur, Pamekasan. And kind of research that used in this research is descriptive research because data that are collected analyzed descriptively based on the situation at the eleventh grade of MA Al-Falah Sumber Gayam Kadur, Pamekasan. Furthermore, the researcher uses three data collection procedures; they are observation, interview, and documentation.
The result of this research shows that most of the students at the eleventh grade more active in studying reading, interest, and also enjoyed to join the class. From this research can conclude that “Make a Match technique” can implement in teaching reading. And by using this technique, the students can motivated to learn reading subject actively.
Based on the result of this research, the researcher can take two conclussions. The first, the teacher can implement “Make a Match technique” as one of learning techniques to make the students to be more active in learning reading. The second, teaching reading by using “Make a Match technique” can lose the students’ boredom in learning reading.
