The Effect of Using Animation Movie on Student’s Writing Narrative Text at the First Grade of MA Qurratul Uyun Larangan

Students at MA QURRATUL UYUN Larangan had difficulty in learning English especially in writing subject. They could not write narrative text well, they also had difficulty to explore their ideas into written form. It happened because many factors, such as teacher method in teaching English were monotonous and students had low interest and low motivation to learn English.
Based on the case above, there are two research problems in this study. The first, Is there any effect of students taught using animation movie have good writing of narrative text at the first grade of MA QURRATUL UYUN Larangan. The second is How significant is different between students who taught by using animation than those who don’t in their writing narrative text.
This study uses quantitative research which is designed pre-experimental, which the data are analyzed by using statistical procedure. The population of this research is all of students at the first grade of MA QURRATUL UYUN Larangan. There are 31 students of the first grade at MA QURRATUL UYUN Larangan. The instruments which are used in conducting this research are test and documentation. Test is used to measure the writing narrative text by using animation movie; moreover, documentation is used to collect the data and to support and complete the data of those variables. such as to get lesson plan, students name list, score of students writing narrative text,photo and etc.This research use quantitative approach using Pre-experimental research. Data analysis is statistical analysis by using dependent T-test formula.
The result of this research is there is significantly difference between students who taught by using animation than those who don’t in their writing narrative textbecause the t-value is higher than t-table in significance alpha 5% The score of t-value in this research is2.213 and the score of t-table is 2.04 in level significance 5% with degree of freedom 30. (2.213 > 2.04)
From these results, it is suggested to the English teachers to use an appropriate media in teaching English in this case using animation movie as a technique have positive effect to the students writing narrative text. It is also expected for further researchers to continue this research on the other skills such as listening, speaking and reading at other level of students for the improvement of English teaching.
