The Application of Cartoon Simpson Movie as Media in Teaching Speaking at Sevent Grade of SMP Negeri I Tlanakan Pamekasan

The mastery of speaking skills in English is a priority for many second language or foreign language learners. Consequently, learners often evaluate their success in language learning as well as the effectiveness of their English course on the basis of how much they feel they have improved in their spoken language proficiency. Teaching environments can vary widely. ESL/EFL teachers could find themselves teach in a modern classroom outfitted. Cartoon Simpson is as one of teaching media shows characters of something and their details. This movie is the interesting media in teaching and learning speaking that the teacher of SMP Negeri I Tlanakan Pamekasan use it to teach speaking.
There are two questions to investigate; 1, how does teacher apply cartoon Simpsons as media in the teaching speaking English skills at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Tlanakan? And 2, Which part of cartoon Simpsons as media can motivate students in the learning speaking English skills at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Tlanakan?
To answer the questions, the reseacher apply descriptive qualitative desain which aim to describe how the teacher applies cartoon Simpsons movies as media in the teaching speaking skills at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Tlanakan. He used Passive partisipant observation with structured interview and documentation to collect the data. The data, then, analyze qualitatively.
From the data collected, the reseacher found that the application of cartoon Simpsons movies as media in teaching speaking skill is considered well. The teacher use three steps in the teaching, that are; pre teaching, whilst teaching and post teaching. Cartoon Simpsons movie contribute to the student to speak and catch the points of the speaking English. The students also can express their idea dealing with the dialogue. By this media, the teacher can create a competitive class considering there will many different opinions and ideas from the students when they are applying this media on speaking English.
The researcher suggest that toteach speaking English skills by using cartoon Simpsons the teacher should explain more clearly, teacher give much time to the student to show their ideas about the dialogue that they practiced to know the possibility occur on the students memorized. And for students, they should be always practice speaking with their friends anywhere and any times. The researcher suggests to the next researcher to conduct research about this media other than this.
