English language learning needs a lot of strategy or technique in teaching learning process to make the students success and really comprehend of the material. One of the ways to make the English learners master English language, they have to comprehend the English text. Reading text is part of English subject. So, as students who learnt English should comprehend the text exactly. From using the KWL (Know-Want-Learn) strategy it makes the students try to comprehend the text before and after reading. It is used to persuade the readers in order they interest to the things that have been showed by the teacher.
This research is consist of four research focuses, they are how the teacher implementation KWL strategy on students reading skill at the eleventh grade of SMK Al-Mukhlisin Seddur Pakong Pamekasan. What are the problems faced by the teacher in implementing KWL strategy on students reading skill at the eleventh grade of SMK Al-Mukhlisin Seddur Pakong Pamekasan. How the teacher overcome the problems in implementing KWL strategy on students reading skill at the eleventh grade of SMK Al-Mukhlisin Seddur Pakong Pamekasan. And how does the students responses in implementing KWL strategy on students reading skill at the eleventh grade of SMK Al-Mukhlisin Seddur Pakong Pamekasan.
The main objectives of this research are to answer the research problem and describe it. This research was conducted by using qualitative approach that this research only describes the data without any statistical process. So, researcher chooses the kind of research using descriptive research. The location and the subject of this research is students at the eleventh grade of SMK Al-Muklisin Seddur Pakong Pamekasan. To collect the data the resercher use obesrvation, interview and documentation.
In this research the researcher shows the teaching learning process in the implementation of KWL strategy on the students reading skill at the eleventh grade of SMK Al-Mukhlisin seddur Pakong Pamekasan, and also the problem that faced by the teacher, how the teacher overcome the problem, and then how the students responses in the implementing the KWL strategy.
Based on the result, the researcher concluded that the implementing of KWL strategy is a good strategy to apply by the English teacher to make the students become an active reader, and attract the students interested, spirit and enthusiasts in teaching learning process.
