AN ANALYSIS OF SONG LYRIC ON WHITE LION’S ALBUM ENTITLED PRIDE FROM AL-KINDIS’ PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVE

The reasons that influence the researcher analyzes the lyric of White Lion’s song in Pride album, because White Lion different with the most bands from their genre as pop rock, once in a while White Lion create the songs which have the social theme, politic and the result of divorce for child. The next reason is his song contain of philosophy that include the science of virtue (fadhilah), the science of oneness (wahdaniyyah) and The science of all how to achieve benefits and avoid the madharat. In this study, the researcher analyzes the philosophy based on Al-Kindi’s perspectives, which are applied in White Lion’s song of Pride album such as Hungry, Lonely Nights, Don’t Give Up, Sweet Little Loving, Lady of the Valley, Wait, All You Need is Rock and Roll, Tell Me, All Join Our Hands and When the Children Cry.
The research problems of the study are what kind of philosophy that contained in the song lyric of White Lion’s album entitled” Pride “on Al-Kindi’s Perspective and how does the philosophy reflect the song lyric of White Lion’s Album Entitled Pride.
The objectives of the research is find out and describe the kind of philosophy in song lyric of White Lion’s album entitled “Pride” on Al-Kindi’s Perspective and to describe how the philosophy reflects the song lyric of White Lion’s Album Entitled Pride.
The approach of this study is qualitative while content analysis as the research technique applied in this study; by using it the writer describes the data in the form of words (descriptive). The data is taken from White Lion’s song of Pride album that mentioned above, and the instrument used in the study is the researcher himself. He has searched, collected, and read the data that contain philosophy then analyzed them in detail about the philosophy in White Lion’s song of Pride album on Al-Kindi’s perspective.
The result of the analysis are some findings that related to the philosophy; the science of virtue (fadhilah) factor, the science of oneness (wahdaniyyah) factor and the science of all how to achieve benefits and avoid the madharat (accident) factor. The White Lion’s song of Pride album is mostly about the life essences that contain with love, justice, unity, patience, peace and respect, with the result can reach the real happiness of life in this world and hereafter latter.
