Vocabulary is important element in the acquisition of second language. Mastering vocabulary can make the students easy to studying English. To make the students enjoying in studying English the teacher need some real object to teach the students, especially in learning vocabulary to students of elementary school. One of the real objects is using food wraps.
There are two research problems in this research. The First; Is there the effect of using food wraps on students’ vocabulary mastery at the third year of SDN Larangan Tokol III Tlanakan Pamekasan?, and Second, How far the effect of using food wraps on students’ vocabulary mastery at the third year of SDN Larangan Tokol III Tlanakan Pamekasan?. So, the research objectives of this reseach, First; To measure the effect of using food wraps on students’ vocabulary mastery at the third year of SDN Larangan Tokol III Tlanakan Pameksan, Second; To know how far the effect of using food wraps on students’ vocabulary mastery at the third year of SDN Larangan Tokol III Tlanakan Pamekasan.
This research uses quantitative approach; while the kind of research which the researcher used is non-experimental research. The population of this research is the third year of SDN Larangan Tokol III Tlanakan Pamekasan in academic year of 2011/2012 containing 16 students. The instruments that are used in collecting data are questionnaire, and test. Data analysis technique that used is statistical analysis by using product moment.
The result of this research shows that the using of food wraps give influence on students’ vocabulary mastery at the third year of SDN Larangan Tokol III Tlanakan Pamekasan. It was proven by using statistical analysis shows that the value of ‘r value’ statistical was 0,917 higher than “r” (table of coefficient value of correlation “r” product moment) in significant level of 5%=0,497 and in significant level of 1%=0,623 (r11≥ rt). And it is also proven when "r value” is consulted to interpretation "r" product moment, where the value of "r value" is between 0.90-1.00 with very strong.
Based on the result above, the researcher concludes that the using of food wraps should be continued as one of English teaching real object since it could add and increase the students’ vocabulary mastery and it make the students interest, fun, and active in learning also it make the students more easy to be able to comprehend English. Especially in mastering vocabulary
