Learning to write procedure text needs several skills, procedure text can be
done in written and verbal perform, the contents of the procedure text must be
specified and have clear goals for readers and audiences so that they can re-practice
well, in learning procedure text requires an appropriate strategy so that the context
that will be conveyed to reader and audience is conveyed properly. In this case the
teacher uses group work strategy in learning procedure text. Group work strategies
are activities that involve several or more people working together in solving
problems or carrying out certain tasks.
There are two research focuses which become the main study in this
research, that are; The first how is the process of learning procedure text by using
group work strategies at Flowers English Center Course Program of Al-Mujtama'
Boarding School Plak-Pak Pegantenan Pamekasan and the second what are the
advantages and disadvantages of using group work strategies in learning procedure
text at Flowers English Center Course Program of Al-Mujtama' Boarding School
Plak-Pak Pegantenan Pamekasan.
The researcher uses a qualitative approach which is descriptive as the type
of this research. The researcher obtained data from observation and interview using
group work strategies in learning procedure text. The informants of this research
are teacher and student of Flowers English Center Course Program of Al-Mujtama'
Boarding School.
Based on the research of the study, The first how is the process of learning
procedure text by using group work strategies at Flowers English Center Course
Program of Al-Mujtama' Boarding School Plak-Pak Pegantenan Pamekasan the
teacher had well prepared the strategy to be used, that the teacher has implemented
group work very well. The teacher provide attention and guidance during the group
learning process so that the students activities, interact, and also help each other.
the second what are the advantages and disadvantages of using group work
strategies in learning procedure text at Flowers English Center Course Program of
Al-Mujtama' Boarding School Plak-Pak Pegantenan Pamekasan with the result that
students can improve understanding and the task will be better and faster resolved
than individual tasks, because tasks will be divided into group. However student
who have weakness in their understanding in the topic will depend to students that
have good understanding in the topic.
