Students of English Teaching Learning Program: challenges in Writing Thesis at IAIN Madura 2021-2022 Academic

Every final student has assignments that must be completed in order to
graduate on time. Like writing a thesis. In the process of completing this
assignment, of course students have several challenges that must be faced. In this
research, there are several types of challenges that usually occur in the process of
writing a thesis. Apart from that, there are also several ways to face various
challenges in writing a thesis.
This research consists of two research objectives, namely, what are the
challenges of english language learning program students in writing thesis at IAIN
Madura 2021-2022 academic year and how do students solve the problems faced
by english language learning program students' challenges in writing theses at IAIN
Madura 2021-2022 academic year.
This research is a qualitative descriptive research, the instruments used are
interviews and documentation. Checking the validity of the data is done through
triangulation. Researchers use technical and time triangulation because it requires
researchers to check data from different sources using the same technique and
planned time using the same method to understand the data and information.
Based on the results of this study show, there are some challenges in writing
a thesis and several ways that students face various challenges in writing a thesis:
The challenge is to find the right theories and references according to the topic
discussed in the thesis. In this case, the student must read more books, journals, and
articles to search the theories and references. The challenge that students have to
overcome is finding alternative ways to get references related to the topic being
discussed in a thesis because sometimes references in the form of books are not sold
in the nearest general stores. In this case, students face it by downloading the PDF
version of the book. Another challenge that is difficult to overcome is the feeling
of laziness that comes from within students. In this case, the students must be able
to fight laziness to be able to graduate on time.
The implication of this research is Students can find out how to deal with
various kinds of challenges that usually occur in the process of writing a thesis. And
can make readers more enthusiastic about completing each final assignment such
as writing a thesis in order to graduate on time.
