An Analysis on Students’ Perception in Using Instagram as Media To Vocabulary Mastery At The 7th Semester of TBI IAIN Madura

Key Words: Students' Perception, Instagram Application, Vocabulary.
Instagram application is an application that provide some features whichallows the user
to communicate each other and get information quickly.. The large use of Instagram among
students can also have a positive impact, one of which is by knowing vocabulary that was not
known before to recall vocabulary that was previously known. In this case, the students become
the users of this application, therefore the researcher interested to knowing about how do the
7th semester students of TBI in IAIN Madura use Instagram to learn English vocabulary and
what are their perception in using Instagram as the media to learn English vocabulary.
In this research, the researcher used a qualitative approach with descriptiveresearch.
The researcher obtained the data from interview, observation, and documentation. The seventh
semester students of TBI IAIN Madura who using Instagram application as media to learn
English vocabulary become the primary source of this research,while the Instagram application
become secondary source of this research.
The result of research that was conducted show that most of the seventh semester
students use Instagram application by opening the Instagram application, then see and follow
accounts that publish about English, then watch educational videos that are posted. Not only
that, students can also take advantage of other features to communicate through social media.
While, for their perception, most of the sixth semester students have positive form of perception
where they received Instagram as media to learn english vocabulary because it really help them
to learn english vocabulary easily.
