Every human being has a different intelligence, one is smart and easy to understand the
material the other one is not easy to understand the materials. It happens by some reasons, one is
because he or she likes to learn together with many people the other one does not like if he or she
learns with many people means he or she likes to learn with teacher only. Type of person who
like learning with noise means with many people is such a normal way, but it is different with
person who like to learn alone or only wants to learn both with the teacher as like a private
course. So that the researcher decided to make the Research focus as follows 1. How do the
tutors implement the English teaching method on the English Private Course: A Case Study of
TBI Students IAIN Madura? 2. What are the English teaching method implementation by the
tutor on the English Private Course: A Case Study of TBI Students IAIN Madura? This research
method uses descriptive qualitative in the form of case studies.
This research method uses descriptive qualitative in the form of case studies. Data
collection techniques using interviews, observation, documentation. So that it can produce data
in the form of words to describe or explain in a systematic, factual, and accurate manner about
the facts from the observed data sources.
The result of this research was found that there were there tutors who taught in the
English private course with different method. And the methods used by the tutors are: for
Vocabulary class used the audio lingual method where here this method is focused on drilling
students to the material given especially in pronunciation. For Grammar class used Grammatical
Translation method here the tutor used this kind of method is because usually students felt that
English is difficult so that the tutor used this method with its style translating word to word,
sentence to sentence. Then the last tutor is for Speaking class, here the tutor used Direct method
where this method focused on how the condition or the situation of the class. And this method is
more flexible because the students can determine the material by themselves according to their
need.
