The Use of Teams Games Tournament to Teach Reading at FEC in IAIN Madura

Teams games tournament is one of cooperative learning strategies will help the
students to work together and get easier in learning an English subject. It means
that teams games tournament will make students can receive knowledge and
comprehend material was delivered.
There are three problems of study in this research, the first what is the use of teams
games tournament to teach reading at FEC in IAIN Madura, the second what are the
advantages in using teams games tournament to teach reading at FEC in IAIN
Madura, the third is what are the disadvantage in using games tournament to teach
reading at FEC in IAIN Madura .
The researcher used descriptive qualitative. The subject of this study is the use of
teams games tournament to teach reading at Fun English Club (FEC) in IAIN
Madura. Meanwhile, the data is collected from interview and documentation. To
analyze the data, the researcher used data reduction, data display and verification.
While to check the validity of data the researcher used data source trianggulation.
The result of this research, the aim of this research was to share the teams games
tournament technique, it describe about using of teams games tournament
technique. The advantage and disadvantage the use of teams games tournament to
teach reading at FEC in IAIN Madura. The advantage are: Students can interact in
small group, giving opportunities for the students to solve problem together,
students will have good attitudes because beside they are responsible their own
selves, increase the students desire in learning, motivating the student to compete,
providing the good atmosphere in the class, increase the students self- eseteem,
motivation and respect for others.
Finally based on the result of this research, the researcher concluded that the
students at Fun English Club (FEC) found the use of teams games tournament to
teach reading at FEC in IAIN Madura
