The Implementation of Western Movie as Media in Teaching Listening in The Third Semester of TBI IAIN Madura Academic Year 2022-2023

The western movie is a story, a play, history, culture, incident, science, and
others, recorded in video form and played in a cinema, television, theater, or other
promotional media whose primary purpose is entertainment which derives from
associated with the United States, Canada, and the countries of Western, Northern,
and Southern Europe that can be implementing as learning media in teaching
listening in the third semester of TBI IAIN Madura academic year 2022-2023.
There is two research focus in this study. The first is how the implementing
the western movie as media in teaching listening in the third semester of TBI
IAIN Madura academic year 2022-2023.Second is what are the students' and
lecturer’s perceptions of implementing the western movie as media in teaching
listening in the third semester of TBI IAIN Madura academic year 2022-2023.
In this research, the researcher uses a qualitative approach and the kind of this
research is case study. The researcher uses three instruments to collect the data:
observation, interview, and documentation. The researcher uses data reduction,
data display, and conclusion drawing/verification to analyze the data. In checking
data validity, the researcher uses member checking and source triangulation.
The result of this research found by the researcher are: first, the implementing
of the western movie as media for teaching listening in the third semester of TBI
IAIN Madura academic year 2022-2023 is have good impact because the lecturer
chooses the suitable media and western movie titles. The implementing western
movies in class is easy when the facilities are adequate, such as having an LCD
projector and speakers so that the implementing of movies as a learning media can
be used optimally. Students are also enthusiastic about the implementing western
movies in class so they can have good final results from the teaching process or
achieve goals from the implementing of western movies as a media for teaching
listening in the third semester. Second, the students' and lecturer's perceptions of
the implementing the western movies as media for teaching listening in the third
semester of TBI IAIN Madura academic year 2022-2023 is positive perception.
Based on the result. It is suggested for the students’ can become accustomed
to independent learning listening to the implementing western movie as media.
Suggested for the lecturer, this research is expected to give the lecturer insight
into the learning media by the implementing western movie as media to teaching
in listening classes.
