In the 14th century there was a Muslim scholar who traveled to several
areas from Morocco, he left at the age of 21 where he had finished studying at the
law faculty. His first destination was Mecca, which is the pilgrimage. The
researcher presents an analysis of the film entitled Journey to Mecca from a
character named Ibn Batuttah.
In the analysis of a figure is actually only intended in the form of spirit in
exploring, therefore in order to later produce a result in the form of knowledge
there is additional discussion in this study between the correlation of the spirit of
exploring with the understanding of knowledge that will be a basic pattern of
cosmopolitan.
The background used in this research is a film produced by Imax's. Of
course, the manufacturing process took a very long time because the licensing
process took more than two years. This did not make the film team just give up,
and thanks to the persistence of the performances, this film with a religious
background can be enjoyed by the world community, because basically the
language used in Ibn Batutta's screenplay is English.
And what is clear in the discussion that will be discussed by the researcher
is the analysis of the spirit of exploring in Ibn Batutta's character in the film
Journey to Mecca, seeing that there are many things that can be obtained for
readers, especially in inter-communication and civilization which is summarized
and written by Ibn Batutta himself in his work entitled 'Ar Rihlah'.
