In the process of learning a second language as like English language most
of the learners are possible to make some errors. Error is an interference or
negative disorder which learners language produce due to the influence of their
mother tongue. The phenomena of error in learner language is an integral part of
process of learning because it is not a failure, but as input or information for the
learner to study a language. The study of error is called Error analysis. That is
type of linguistic analysis that focuses on error is made by learners. As in Mind
Your Language movie which the learners often make a number of errors in using
English communication. There were two objectives of this study. The first was to
know the errors that occured in learner language on subtitle of mind your
language movie. The second was to analyze the errors that occured in learner
language on subtitle of mind your language movie.
In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research which
focused on description. The whole data analyzed the errors that occured in
learners language on subtitle of Mind Your Language Movie based on Surfaces
Strategy Taxonomy By Dulay’s perspective. In collecting the data the researcher
used documentation by captured the error sentences by using screenshot to find
out the errors and the way of errors occured on learner communication of the part
episode was choosen from season 1 episode 1 on subtitle of Mind Your Language
movie.
The results of this research were the researcher found 27 error sentences
that occured in learner language communication on subtitle of Mind Your
Language movie in season 1 episode 1 during 23 minutes. And those errors were
occured by the omission of an item in the well-formed utterence as like omission
of pronoun, omission of linking verb, omission of article and omission of verb
inflection s/es, and omission of auxiliary do. The second was addition of an item
that should not appear in the well-formed utterence, the third is misformation, as
like misformation of word, misformation of pronoun, and misformation of to be.
And the fourth is misordering of sentence and question form.
It indicates that there are several errors that occured in learner language on
subtitle of Mind Your Language movie which characterized as omission error,
addition error, misformation error, and misordering error.
