THE USE OF INDONESIA-ENGLISH CODES SWITCHING FOUND IN TLAK SHOW "SARAH SECHAN" NET. TV PROGRAM

Codes switching occurs in a community which have many kinds of languages, or in the
other words in a bilingual society. The phenomenon of bilingualism can be found in every single
place where people live, the bilingual and multilingual societies people certain codes ,Those are,
in the family, at the school, at the talk show program and the other. The phenomenon occurs
when Sarah Sechan said in the talk show. The talk show Sarah Sechan is one of the unique and
exciting televation program to watch, the program Sarah Sechan shows signals that involves
communication and The language applied during the speaking in the talk show. the researcher
interested to choose Sarah Sechan as object because she often Switch one language to other to
make the conversation more interesting and make aundiences fells good in the show, and she has
a unique of way and funny to entertain the audiences by the word that she often said “Kece” and
comical guestures to make spirit to the audiences in NET TV Program.
This research have two research focuses, the first problem is What kind of Code Switching found
in Talk show Sarah Sechan in NET TV programs?, then the second is What are the possible
reasons for the use of the code-switching found in Talk show Sarah Sechan in NET TV
programs?
The researcher used qualitative data analysis by transcript and analyzing utterance of
Sarah Sechan which included of code switching. The researcher used two instruments, that are
documentation and observation to answer the research focuses with comparing the theory and
phenomenon by observing the videos then screen shoot when she make conversation to accurate
the documentation.
Based on the observation, and documentation, the results showed that There are three
types of code switching and it was used by Sarah Sechan in the talk show “ Sarah Sechan” inNET. TV Program. Two data for tag code switching, Twinty six data for inter-sentential code
switching and three data for intra-sentential code switching that used by Sarah Sechan in the talk
show “ Sarah Sechan” in NET. TV Program. Whereas the reason of used Code Switching by
Sarah Sechan from Indonesia to English language are particular topic, emphasize a particular
point, friendship or family bonding, to inject humor, borrowing, Audiences Design, Change of
attitude or relationship and exclude people from a conversation.
Based on the above results, it is recommended for further researcher, if you want to do
research related about code switching to this thesis, then this thesis can be used as a reference for
achieving studies. This thesis can also be used for the readers. The readers can more understand
about code switching and they can apply this theory in their daily life
