ANALYSIS ON GRAMMATICAL ERROR BY NETIZEN STATUS UPLOADED IN SOCIAL MEDIA

This thesis describes grammatical analysis of the status uploaded by netizen. Some of people published status in social media especially in twitter are considered to be grammatically and systematically correct. For thus, the researcher interest to analyze grammatical error status in twitter. Grammatical error is a term used in prescriptive grammar to describe an instance of faulty, unconventional, or controversial usage. For that reason, the researcher formulate two research questions: 1. What are the statuses uploaded by Netizen in Social Media? 2. What are the grammatical error on Netizen Status Uploaded in Social Media?
This research used descriptive analysis method of qualitative research to know the grammatical status error on social media. In this thesis researcher using the types of data collection, in observation and documentation, because the researcher need observe and documentation with using status on twitter.
Having analyzed the data, the researcher finally found twenty form of grammatical errors in status uploaded in twitter. There are many sentence structures found in twitter status, those are verb tense, punctuation, addition, word form, article, meaning not clear, capitalization, word choice, spelling. There are 5 status error in grammatical that is categorized of verb tenses, There are 5 status error in grammatical that is categorized of punctuation, There are 1 status error in grammatical that is categorized of addition, There are 2 status error in grammatical that is categorized of word form, There are 1 status error in grammatical that is categorized of article, There are 2 status error in grammatical that is categorized of meaning not clear, There are 1 status error in grammatical that is categorized of capitalization, There are 1 status error in grammatical that is categorized of word choice, There are 3 status error in grammatical that is categorized of spelling.
Therefore, the researcher tries to formulate suggestion relate with finding: people able to write down status in twitter correctly when they interest to making status. The student of English are expected to use the correct grammatical. This research also be useful to the next researcher, not only in 9 of grammatical error but also more deeply.
