THE USE OF PREVIEW, QUESTION, READ, SUMMARIZE, TEST (PQRST) STRATEGY IN READING COMPREHENSION FOR THE STUDENT OF LATANSA BEC PAMEKASAN

Reading is one of the language skills which is very important to be learned by students. Thought this activity, students can improve their own language. They will get information and ideas which they need to know. Moreever, they will be able to know what they do not know before to make easier the teacher needs a strategy in teaching reading as reseacher knows that strategy is a way chosen to achieve a goal or solution of the problem. One of the strategies used by teacher in the class is PQRST strategy.
This research has three research problem that are: The first, how does the teacher use PQRST strategy in teaching reading comprehention at Latansa BEC. The second, what are the problem faced by the teacher in using PQRST strategy in teaching reading comprehention at Latansa BEC. The third, how does the teacher solve the problem use PQRST strategy in teaching reading comprehention at Latansa BEC.
In this study, the researcher use qualitative research. Which help the researcher to describe the situation into paragraph. While the procedure which is used by researcher to collect the data are observation, interview and Documantation. It ia purposed to know how the teacher use PQRST strategy in teaching reading comprehention at Latansa BEC Pamekasan.
The result by using the strategy the students can understand easily and they can also get the information when they have a reading English text
Based on the phenomenon above, that strategy in teaching reading comprehention is very important. In addition, teacher‟s strategy is the one of crucial factor which influences to the success in teaching. Moreover, as the next teacher generation it necessary to know the appropriate strategies in teaching the students. From this reason the researcher carry out a research entitled " The use of Preview, Question, Read, Summarize, Test (PQRST) Strategy in Reading comprehension for the student at LATANSA BEC
