ANALYSIS AN ARGOT LANGUAGE OF FISHERMAN COMMUNITY IN KARDULUK SUMENEP

Keyword: Argot and Fisherman community

Argot is commonly used to identify whether someone is one of the members of such as circles or not, as well as to promote feeling of security, isolation, and camouflage of the members. The fisherman in Karduluk Sumenep make specific language from the language being before. The language used by the fisherman not used when they are in outside. Only members of fisherman in Karduluk Sumenep that communicated using the language. Based on the with sociolinguistic , the language that used by fisherman community in Karduluk Smenep called argot.

There are two problems in this research, they are: the first what are argot used by fisherman community in Kaduluk Sumenep. The second, how the fisherman used the argot in daily activity of fisherman community in Karduluk Sumenep.

In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative study. The goal is to describe the phenomenon found during the research. The data were collected by observation, interview and documentation. The data is taken from the fisherman community in Karduluk Sumenep.

As the result of the study, the writer found that argot language used by fisherman community in Karduluk Sumenep is only formed by adding, substractd, and accidently. This language used as special language in order to deceive and to avoid the outsider’s understanding about the topic they talk.

Based on the result above, it is suggestion the society to maintain their special language in their daily language, and for reader as the next researcher to know pay attention to the language development especially of Madurase language up to now.
