AN ANALYSIS OF PERSUASION USED BY MASTER OF CEREMONY IN BULL RACE OF PRESIDENT CUP 2018

Master of Ceremony (MC) is the determinant of the course of an event or speaker when making a direct speech or speech to convey their ideas, goals, and beliefs. The Master of Ceremony uses several words that contain persuasion, persuading all audiences to be interested. Persuasion techniques in speaking are used to persuade participants or spectators. In bull race of president cup 2018 is guided by two Master of Ceremony, namely Master of Ceremony who use English language and Master of Ceremony who use Indonesian language.
In conducting this research, researchers focus to answer; 1) Howdoesthe Master of Ceremony of Bull Race Cup use Persuasion? 2) What kinds of persuasion techniques are used by the Master of Ceremony of Bull Race Cup? Then, the purpose of the research is; 1) To Describe the Persuasion usedby the Master of Ceremony of Bull Race Cup, 2) To Know Kinds of Persuasion Techniques are used by the Master of Ceremony of Bull Race Cup 2018.
This research uses descriptive qualitative because the researcher described the persuasion used by the Master of Ceremony and the technique used by the Master of Ceremony. And procedure data used by researchers to collect data is observation, interviews and documentation. The researcher watched the bull race cup 2018 directly as observation. And the researcher, ask some question such as name and others as interview. In documentation, the researcher copy the record into a text as data that will make easier when analyze the data.
The results of this research show that there are 41 persuasions used by MC. And according to Gorys Keraf there are 7 persuasion techniques. But the researcher only found 5 techniques from the 7 techniques used by MC in bull race of president cup 2018. The 5 techniques are Rationalization, Identification, Suggestion, Conformity and Compensation.
