Writing is one of activities which someone can transfer what thing on their mind in writing form or writing is giving information to the readers. It can help them to express their ideas. In writing English, writer must able to understand many skills to help authorship itself. Among them: mastering grammar, knowing many vocabularies and expert in arranging word into paragraph. In grammar there is concord. Concord is the correspondence between the subject in one sentence with the verb or auxiliary, the correspondence of tenses with time statement, and the correspondence of the pronoun.
Based on description above, the focus of this study are: what are concord errors in writing essay text in dictation and writing class in the sixth semester of AsramaPuteriKhadijahPamekasan? And what the cause of concord error on writing essay text on students’ writing in dictation and writing class in the sixth semester of AsramaPuteriKhadijahPamekasan?
This research uses qualitative research with kind of descriptive. To get some data researcher uses some technique such as: Observation, interview, documentation. The researcher take dictation and writing class which is include 20 students. While to check the validity of data is done by triangulation based on the data source.
The result of this research show that many mistakes in arranging grammar correctly in essay at dictation and writing class in the sixth semester of AsramaPuteriKhadijah include error in arranging grammar correctly. Whereas the factor that make students do not attention and making error in arranging sentence is carelessness, first language interference, translation, and boredom.
Based on this research, the researcher can give some suggestions for student, student should have high motivation to learn about arranging sentence in essay correctly for increase their ability in writing. Suggestion for teacher, a teacher should should know and careful in to note and correct a piece of arranging word in essay.
