THE USE OF GOOGLE TRANSLATE ON STUDENT’S READING COMPREHENSION AT THE 9TH GRADE OFMTS MIFTAHUL ULUM LANGGAR ANYAR

Reading is one of four skills in learning English that should be mastered by English learners. In reading activity, students should comprehend their reading with translation the text in their reading. translation is very important in developing language on learning process because it can help people by telling the meaning of each word, definitions of the word. In this era, is very easy to translate either using a manual way that is with dictionary, or more practical, using Google Translate.
There are two research problems in this research. The first one is how do the student’s use Google Translate to comprehend the text in teaching reading comprehension at the 9th grade students of MTs Miftahul Ulum Langgar Anyar. The second one is how does Google Translate help student’s comprehend the text in teaching reading comprehension at the 9th grade students of MTs Miftahul Ulum Langgar Anyar.
This research is conducted to describe how the student’s use Google Translate to comprehend the text in teaching reading comprehension at the 9th grade students of MTs Miftahul Ulum Langgar Anyar and the Google Translate help student’s comprehend the text in teaching reading comprehension at the 9th grade students of MTs Miftahul Ulum Langgar Anyar.
The result of this research showed that there are some steps in the use of Google Translate in teaching reading comprehension. The first one is Choose the English passage theme. The second one is Instruct the students to read the passage. The third one is take a note if there are sentences or unfamiliar word that students got. And the last one is the students use Google Translate to translate the word. The studens have fun and more interest to reading English book if use Google Translate, because Google Translate not only as translator but it can help students as online dictionary, learning tool and spell checking.
Based on the result of research above, the researcher concludes Google Translate as a good media to teacher use for students to help them to comprehend the text and their reading. Google Translate also simple and as application smartphone, so it makestudents easy to bring this translator than use dictionary.
